Georgian Ice Cream

This Summer, as part of Queen Caroline's Garden Party, AVM Curiosities created a pop-up 18th century ice cream parlour in the stunning grounds of Kensington Palace. Made in collaboration with Bristol-based Ice cream factory Jolly Nice, three Georgian flavours were available to try; Apricot & Orange Flower Blossom, Chocolate Water Ice (sorbet), and a Brown Bread Ice Cream, an 18th century classic.

The event commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces was open to the public and available in two parts; a pre-engagement workshop for 11-14 year olds, and the garden party itself, where AVM Curiosities created the 'Ice-House' tent, containing an ice cream themed cabinet of curiosity, hourly talks by food historian Tasha Marks, and authentic 18th century ice cream samples, courtesy of Jolly Nice.
